ABOUT THE SPACE OC

Built for creatives, by creatives. We've been where you are — searching for a space that actually gets it. That's why Space OC was born. Located in the heart of historic Downtown Santa Ana, we built the space we always wished existed: intentional, versatile, and designed to make your work look and feel extraordinary.

Space OC is home to two distinct studios — The Loft, an industrial-style powerhouse built for full-scale productions, and the Daylight Suite, a light-kissed boutique space dripping with character and texture. Housed in neighboring buildings just steps apart, both studios share the same DNA: elevated, intentional, and built to make your creative vision come to life. Whether you're shooting fashion, building a brand, filming content, or telling a story — there's a space here that was made for exactly that.

FAQ

  • The studio rental is just for the space itself, so you’ll bring your own photographer/ videographer. Think of it as an Airbnb for a photo studio—but we can recommend some fantastic photographers/videographers if you need one!

  • All lighting, furniture, props, grip gear are included. You only pay extra for colored backdrops or special add-ons.

  • Absolutely. We offer quick walkthroughs so you can get a feel for the space and plan your shoot. We also have a virtual walkthrough that you can watch here on our site.

  • Both studios are located in Historic Downtown Santa Ana, CA — steps apart from each other inside neighboring buildings.

  • Yes — when you book a studio, it's exclusively yours for the duration of your session.

  • Yes — both studios can be booked independently or together for larger productions.

  • Yes. Please check our booking page for current minimum hour requirements per studio.

Tucked inside the iconic Spurgeon Building in Historic Downtown Santa Ana, this intimate boutique studio was designed by Jojo Alvarez of Vintage Gold & Co. and blends Victorian and Parisian influences with authentic vintage artwork, mirrors, and props sourced from multiple eras.

One side delivers a romantic, editorial aesthetic. The other gives you a clean, modern white set. Two distinct looks. One unforgettable space. Sunlight pours in from sunrise to sunset — and the magic it creates is yours.

The Founders

James Davis II is A luminary in film directing and photography, James creates enchanting music videos and captivating brand narratives. His work has graced prestigious stages like Times Square and the 2018 Winter Olympics, and has been featured on MTV, E! Television, Disney Channel, and VH1. James has collaborated with celebrities including Chris Brown, Usher, Pharrell Williams, and more, capturing the essence of emotions within each frame. As the founder and owner of The Space OC, his creative vision turns every project into a journey of unparalleled creativity.

Dulce Moran, With over 6 years of experience, is a professional makeup artist who has worked on projects for beauty brands, music videos, photoshoots, and bridal work. She has collaborated with artists like Maluma, Nicki Minaj, and Myriam Fares for the FIFA World Cup music video, and served as a key makeup artist for artists such as Latto and Cannons. Dulce's passion for her craft drives her to continue growing in her career, with aspirations to start her own makeup line.
